Josephine 'Josie' Tinnon, 86, of Gassville, died Friday (Sep 10, 1993) at Marysville, WA.
Services will be at 11AM Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is from 9AM to 9PM Friday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Tinnon was born on February 5, 1907, at Buford and was a long time Baxter County resident. She was a Baptist and lifetime and charter member of the Cotter Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5742.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.A. 'Shady' Thomas and her second husband Hugh Tinnon, Both parents, John and Hester Lovelady Smothers, a daughter, Jo Frances Smothers, a step son, Thomas Tinnon, a grandson, Curtis Scott Thomas and three sisters.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, John W. and Shirley Thomas of Marysville, WA; a stepdaughter, Mary Belle Derouin of Pinehurst, NC; two brothers, Howard Smothers of Spring Hill, KS and Roy Smothers of Kansas City, MO; a sister Cecilia Moore of Mt. Home; two grandchildren, Rocky Thomas of Marysville, WA and Cynthia Garland of Ft. Jones, CA; one step grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
