Funeral services were held Sunday at 2PM in the Fairview Methodist Church for William B. Peace, aged 83, of Madison, KS. Mr. Peace died in a Eureka, KS hospital Thrusday of last week.
Rev. J.H. Purdom and Rev. J.F. Duncan were officiating ministers. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Carl Cody, Billy Buchanan, Truman Smith, Kenneth Jackson, Cleo Fawcett, and Wayne Fleming. J.D. Alley, Charley Pitchford, John Reeves, Van Knight, Dee Jackson and Don Lonon served as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Peace, for many years a resident of Baxter County, was born October 18, 1876, at Clayton, West Yorksire, England. He was married on September 18, 1898 to Grace V. King. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace V. Peace of the home; three sons, Vernon of Teterville, KS, Alfred of Mt. Home and Noel of Wichita, KS; two daughters, Mrs. George Thompson and Mrs. Floyd Shaw, both of Wichita; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
