Sarah E. Deaver, daughter of Rev. Jacob and Lydia Pearson, was born in Guilford county, N.C. Feb. 10, 1816. In 1841 she moved with her parents to Fayette county, Tenn. where she lived until 1851 when she moved with the family to Washington county, Arkansas and settled in Elm Springs. She was married to W.S. Deaver in 1853, whom she survived only a few years. When 14 years old she professed religion at Low Camp ground, Rockingham county, N. C. and joined the M.E. church in which she lived, walking worthy of her vocation until the day of her death which occurred May 27, 1887. The long procession which followed slowly to her last resting place was a greater eulogy on her life and character than words can express. She loved her church and was always in her pew when able to attend services. A few days before her death she became unconscious. Benj. C. Mathews.
