Mrs. Betty Parnell, age 67, of Cotter passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Betty was born Jun 15, 1942, in Broseley, Missoui to Howard L. and Josie (Trout) Hayes. She married Leon 'Snake' Parnell September 16, 1964 in Yellville, Arkansas. She was an LPN for over 40 years and a school nurse at Mt. Home Public Schools. Betty was an artist and a lover of the theatre arts. She was an avid reader and a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Betty Parnell is survived by 3 sons, Larry (Charlotte) Parnell of Harrison, AR, Gary (Jana) Parnell of Mt. Home, AR and Micky (Susan) Parnell of Mt. Home, AR; 1 daughter, Becky (Barry) Price of Flippin; 6 grandchildren, Jettie, Drew, Nichlaus, Cole, Benjamin and Montana; 1 great grandchild, Sierra; 4 sisters, Thelma Hill, Lou Wilson, Ruth Winberry, and Harriet Hayes; and 1 brother, Howard Hayes, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sisters, Rosetta Hayes, Opal Lee Hayes, her twin Jetty Keller; and 3 brothers, Lloyd and twins, Floyd and Glen.
Visitation for Mrs. Parnell will be Wednesday from noon-9PM at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 6-8PM. Funeral services will be 10AM Thursday at Roller Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
