Services for Cleo Edward Fawcett, Sr. are 11AM Wednesday (Oct 29, 1999)at Kirby-Conner-Boaz Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Gwin officiating. Mr. Fawcett died Sunday morning in Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He was 87.
He was born April 6, 1912, in Caldwell, KS, to Albert E. and Mercy Maude Clark Fawcett. He married Gloria Young Feb 12, 1949, at Salem. Mr. Fawcett was a US Army veteran of WWII and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars at Salem. He was a retired farmer and lived in Salem since 1919.
He is survived by two sons, Cleo E. Fawcett, Jr and wife Carol of Gassville and Michael Fawcett of Salem; three daughters, Ada Ruth
Bryant and husband Edwin of Gurdon, Janice Elaine Lake of Mt. Home and Kathleen Toler and husband Steve of Rowlett, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fawcett was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Ronald; three brothers, three sisters; and a son-in-law.
Visitation will be 5-8PM today at Kirby-Conner-Boaz Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Campbell, John Barger, Tommy Carter, Chuck Young, and William Fawcett. Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Shelton, Lonnie Chapman, Ralph Clements, Joe Bryant, Greg Bryant, Jeremy Fawcett, Leon Opitz, Mark Weems, Johnny Ray Lake and James Ray Lake. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Kirby-Conner-Boaz Funeral Directors. Kirby-Conner-Boaz Funeral Directors, Batesville Casket Co. and the United States Forestry Service have provided for the planting of a tree as a living memorial and tribute to Cleo E. Fawcett, Sr.
