The following information was obtained by
Alza [Milam] Chastain, May 26, 1968, Cecil, Arkansas. She stated:
"Lowe's Creek is located in the SW of the SW Sec 12 T8 R28, in Franklin County on the Old Ozark and Waldron Road, 10 miles South of Ozark and 10 miles North of Charleston.
It was deeded to the public for burial grounds by Lucas Coleman Milam in 1871. The name has always been Lowe's Creek.
The first person buried there was Robert Taylor, September 20, 1871. Then on October 2, 1871, Benham Taylor, son of Robert Taylor was buried there.
The oldest person [as of 1968] buried there is Aunt Martha Harris, born in 1822, died 1922, July 6, at 100 years.
Close to 900 graves in cemetery, and many have no markers." [NOTE: This was in 1968!]
