DECATUR — Wayne Meigs, age 93, of Decatur died July 19, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born at Siloam Springs on Sept. 3, 1916, to the late Tad Marshall and Bessie Lee Steward Meigs.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.

Survivors include his children, Mary Jane Henderson and husband, Dan, Donna Meigs, Lex Meigs and wife, Marcia, all of Decatur; a sister. Frances Owsley of Aztec, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Meigs; daughters, Barbara Ann Meigs and Shirley Nance; and three brothers, Marshall, Cecil and John Meigs.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday at Decatur United Methodist Church.

Burial with military honors will follow in Decatur Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the food pantry at Decatur United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.
