Geo. W Edmiston, well known in western Benton county, and one of the early settlers near Decatur, died at his home there Sunday evening about 7 o'clock. Mr. Edmiston has been in ill health for some time, suffering from a complication of diseases which finally resulted in his death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon and were attended by a large number of old friends and relatives. Besides his widow he is survived by four married children, all of whom live at Decatur. These are Clyde C. Edmiston, Mrs. Chas. Adkins, Mrs. Mack Peek and Mrs. Andy Wilmoth.

EDMISTON, Lula - {from Decatur} Died on the 20th day of August 1898, Mrs. Lula Edmiston, the beloved wife of George Edmiston, in the thirty-seventh year of her age. She leaves a husband and three sons besides a number of step-children who sincerely mourn. Neighbors and friends are bowed with grief. On Sunday evening as the western sun was setting she was laid to rest in the Decatur cemetery. A large concourse of people paid the last tribute of respect to one they loved so well. Rev. Lindsey preached an appropriate funeral sermon.
