Leola May Young, daughter of the late Arthur and Nola Pauline Cooper, was born on November 26, 1923, in Hopewell. She died on August 24, 2001, in Pineville. She was 77 years old.
Mrs. Young was united in marriage to Wayne Lyle Young on February 14, 1942, in Norfork and to this union seven children were born. She spent her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. Mrs. Young was of the Jehovah Witness faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Vera Fay Sutterfield of Salem, Shirley Sutterfield of Calico Rock, Erma Jo McDoe of Oxford and Elsie Lynch of North Pole, Alaska; three sons, Steve Young of Calico Rock, David Young of Pineville and Lynn Young of Norfork; one sister, Ardith Dickerson of Jordan; twenty-five grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five brothers, Junior Loosey, Clyde Loosey, Billy Loosey, Finis Loosey and Edward Loosey.
Graveside services were August 27, at Galatia Cemetery with Gilbert Molinar officiating. Pallbearers were Jackie Loosey, Scott Pinnington, Wayne Young, Paul McDoe, Jessie Brock and Kelly Hess. Honorary pallbearer was Clint Young.
Arrangements were made by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
(There is a misprint in the names of her parents in the above obit. They were Arthur and Nola Pauline Cooper Loosey. She is referenced in her father's obituary dated Jan 27, 1972. See Arthur Gilmore Loosey.)
