Grandma McCamey died June 10th at her home near Lowell, Benton County. She was stricken with paralysis on the morning of June 9th and died the following day. She was born in Bedford County, Tenn. March 11, 1819; was married to J.H. McCamey in 1838. To this union were born 12 children, four of whom are still living, three girls and one boy. Mrs. Martha Patton, Mrs. Callie Gallaher, Mrs. Mintie Auston and G.W. McCamey, who were all present at her funeral. Funeral services were conducted by Eld. W.C. Hamby at 11:30 a.m. at the cemetery at Elm Springs Sunday, June 11th. She lived to the ripe age of 92 years and 3 months. The last 19 years of her life was spent in widowhood, since the death of her husband, J.H. McCamey, who died May 11, 1892. Grandma was a member of the Missionary Baptist church at Spring Creek but owing to infirmities had not been able to attend church for several years.
