A funeral for Macy Morris Parnell of Norfork will be 11AM Wednesday at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Stover officiating. Visitation will be 5-8PM Tuesday at Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Mr. Parnell died Friday, Sep 19, 2008, in Wichita, KS, at age 78.
He was born Wednesday, July 2, 1930, in Norfork, the son of Edgar and Hettie Dickerson Parnell. He married Corene Cunningham Aug 27, 1950, at Norfork. He worked as a boilermaker/welder for Local 83 in Kansas City, MO. Macy was a lifetime resident of Norfork. He was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association and had a great love for travel and living in Arkansas.
Mr. Parnell is survived by his wife, Corene Parnell; four daughters, Louise (Ron) Rollins, Kay (Mick) Blackburn, Betty (Steve) Walker and Nora Hawkins, all of Valley Center, KS; four sisters, Nancy Lou (Keith) Southards of Springfield, MO, Alteen Rand of Jordan, Ruby Hargart of Norfork and Pearl (Harvey) Beard of Midway; 17 grandchildren; 17 great granchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in dath by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Burial will be a Galatia Cemetery in Norfork, with Kenny Blackburn, David Rollins, Wesley Grandstaff, Andy Walker, Brian Walker and Aron Walker as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Leo Moore, O.C. Simpson, Marvin Adams, Bill Deffenbaurgh, Sylvester Parnell, Jackie Cunningham, Harold Martin and Jackie Baker. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Creamtion Services.
