John a. 'Jay' Lane of Jordan, son of the late John Arthur Lane and Julie Agnes Gray Lane, was born October 29, 1934, in Hopewell. He died May 6, 1997, at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 62.
Mr. Lane was united in marriage to Dorene Aklin April 15, 1964. They were married 22 years and she was the mother of his children. He was a mechanic and life long resident of this area. He loved to play different instruments and was an accomplished guitar and banjo picker. He loved to hunt, fish, and build things with wood.
Survivors included Delsie, his companion of the home; five daughters, Tyna Boss of Hoxie, Robin Adams of Norfork, Karla Richardson of Calico Rock, Amy Morris of Harrison, and Leanne Brown of Mt. View; eight grandchildren; six adopted grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Lane of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Cleo Johnson of Versailes, Missouri, Audry Cunningham of Kansas City, Missouri, and Irene Brown of Camarillo, California; many friends and relatives and fellow musicians. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at the Galatia Cemetery with Reverend Dave Williamson officiating.
Pallbeareres wer his sons-in-law, Danny Boss, Lynn Dale Adams, Junior Richardson, George Brown, Kevin Brown and Randy Watkins.
