Christy Ann Cantrell
August 20, 1979 - May 13, 2006
Christy Ann Cantrell, age 26 of Calico Rock, passed away May 13, 2006 at her
residence. Christy was born August 20, 1979 in Calico Rock to Cynthia Loosey
McDonald and Ralph Stanley Powell. She graduated from Calico Rock High with
honors from President Bill Clinton for her accomplishments with helping
elementary students learn how to read. Christy loved the Lord and loved
spending time with children. She taught Sunday school at the Glade Rock
Chapel and Christy also taught a Bible Study Class.
Christy Ann Cantrell is survived by her son, James Bennett Powell; mother
and step-father Cynthia and Calvin McDonald of Calico Rock; Father: Ralph
Stanley Powell of Illinois; Brother: Billy Powell of Calico Rock; Sister:
Jessica Booker and her husband Casey of Melbourne; Half-Brother: Brettany
Tunnicliff of Calico Rock; Maternal Grandmother: Elwanda Loosey of Calico
Rock; Paternal Grandmother: Barbara Ann Powell of Hot Springs; several
aunts, uncles, cousins and one niece and four nephews. She was preceded in
death by her grandfathers: James Edward Loosey and Hugh Bennett Powell.
Funeral services for Christy Ann Cantrell will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Old Galatia Church in Norfork with Mr. David Young officiating.
Visitation for Christy will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
