Bobby Gene Staggs of Calico Rock, son of Elmer and Elsie Staggs of Calico Rock, was born on October 16, 1951, in Valejo, California. He died on March 1, 2003, in Mt. Home. He was 51 years old.
Mr. Staggs was united in marriage to Marlene Pruitt on June 10, 1972, in Old Joe.
During his working years, Mr. Staggs was employed by North Arkansas Electric Cooperative for 31 years. He began as a lineman and worked his way up to Shop Foreman. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include hsi wife, Marlene Staggs of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Suzette and Jeremy Sample, of Dolph; two sons, and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathy Staggs of Wideman and Roy Staggs of Calico Rock; his parents, Elmer and Elsie Staggs of Calico Rock; two brothers, Paul Ray Staggs and Edward Staggs of Calico Rock; two grandsons, Gary and Bobby Sample; many nieces and nepehws; a host of other relatives and many good friends.
Funeral services were held March 4, 2003, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Alfred Young officiating. Pallbearers were, Jimmie Ray Branscum, Billy Bob Franks, Bill Franks, Jerald White and Jimmy Sneartern. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmie Estes, Jimmie Weaver, Lester Atkins and Roger Woods.
Interment was at Galatia Cemetery under the direction Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
