Sarah Elizabeth Powell, daughter of David and Hattie Crawford Grigg, was born September 15, 1917, in Liberty Hill, Louisiana. She died Friday, November 2, 2001, in the Care Manor Nursing Center. She was 84.
Mrs. Powell had made her home here since 1977, was a retired school teacher and a member of the Norfork First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha Shaw of Norfork, Ruth Clark of Houman, Louisiana, and Mary Hartsock of Springdale; six grandchildren; thirteen step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were November 4, 2001, at the Norfork First Baptist Church with Reverend Louis Stephens and Reverend David Wiley officiating. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the Baxter County Funeral Home.
