~ Velma Dixon Barr, 96, of Warren died Tuesday, January 2, 2001, at the Bradley County Medical Center at Warren. Born Feb. 14, 1904, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Ethel Fish Dixon. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was the widow of Owen Barr who died July 20, 1999. They were married Feb. 18, 1947 in Reno, Nevada. Survivors include a sister, Grace Nix of Warren. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 4, at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Star City by Brother Bill Leslie. Arrangements were made by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Pallbearers were Dan Chambliss, Harve Chambliss, Max Givens, and Bill Hargis.
