Mrs. Janie Beard, 64, a lifetime resident of Norfork, died Monday at a Memphis, TN, hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2PM today (Thursday) at the Norfork Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Martin of Cave City officiating. Interment will be in the Galatia Cemeery under the direction of McClure Service.
Mrs. Beard was born March, 1901, at Norfork, the daughter of Will and Bell Cunningham Lackey. She was the wife of Ed Beard and a member of the Methodist Chruch.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Beard is survived by six sons, Hubert, Harvey and Jimmy Ray of Norfork, Claybourn of Jolliet, Manuel of Buford and Lonnie Gene of Independence, KS; two daughters, Mrs. Charlie Torrence of Norfork and Mrs. Roy Wilson of Trumann; 28 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three brothers, Alex Lackey of Norfork, Bill Whitehead of Billings, OK and Troy Whitehead of Trumann.
