HARTVILLE, MO---Services for Danny Kay Torell of Hartville, MO, were held at 10:30AM Saturday at Homan-Howe Funeral Home Chapel at Hartville with the Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Mr. Torell died Wednesday (Jan 28, 1998) near Hartville from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was 44.
Burial was a Galatia Cemetery with Stanley Edmon, John Miller, Butch Strong, Scott Kirkover, Glenedale Robertson, Todd Strong and Shannon Torell serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Torell was born Feb 16, 1953, at Mt. Home, a son of George Michael and Unalea Acklin Torell. At 7, he moved to Ozark County near Ganinesville, MO. After graduating from high school, he entered the US Navy and served 10 years during which he was stationed in Mississippi and also was a jet engine mechanic on an aircraft carrier. After his discharge he returned to the Gainesville area where he worked milking cows for several years, driving a truck for PAM Transport out of Springdale and working for Mansfield Steel for seven years.
In 1996 he moved to Hartville and worked the past two years of Springfield Pallet Co. He and the former Loetta Elizabeth Isaac were married Nov 27, 1996. He attended Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Chruch near Hartville. Mr. Torell enjoyed spending time with his children and grandsons. He liked working on cars in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Loetta Torell of the home; seven children, Andrea Torell of Clarksville, Angela Shannon, Alaina and Joshua Torell, all of Gainesville, MO and Michael and Mary Smith both of Springfield, MO; a grandson, Joshua Michael Torell; a step daughter, Tonya Campbell of Rolla, MO; a step son, Allen Lavallee and his wife Christie, of Rolla, two step grandsons, Stephen Austin and Levi Lavelle; His mother, Unalea Kirk of Gainesville, MO; two brothers, Hershell Strong of Gainesville and Edward Kirk of Magnolia; two sisters, Sandra Kirkover of Hartville, MO and Wynoka Roberts of Pomona, MO; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, an infant son, and his maternal grandmother, Dora Acklin.
