Marion Thomas Shipley, 69, died Thursday at Baxter General Hospital. A native of Mt. Home, he was a general laborer and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Shipley was born July 27, 1909, in Baxter County to the late James Woodford Shipley and the former Almeda Carson. He married the former Virgie Jewell Clark on Jan 31, 1943, at Norfork.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four brothers, Woodford and Henry Shipley of Mt. Home, Homer Shipley of Wasco, CA, and Orville Shipley of Eldon, MO; two sisters Lizzie Climer of Wynn and Ella Boyer of Flippin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Galatia Assembly of God Church, officiated by Rev. Scott Garner.
Pallbearers were Henry Wheat, Ira Hicks, Johnnie Moore, O.R. Carpenter, Rudolph Baker and Oscar Chapman.
Interment took place at Glatatia Cemetery, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Mt. Home.
