MURRAY, Althea M. WILSON Derreberry - Mrs. Althea Wilson Murray died at her home in the Vaughn community Friday, July 19, 1929 at the age of 75 years. She had been ill for several months. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. F.A. Bradshaw, pastor of the Hazel Glen Presbyterian church, Vaughn, Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. Interment was made in the Barron cemetery. Althea M. Wilson Murray was born in Yancey county, North Carolina September 9th, 1854. In 1868 she moved with her parents to Benton county, Arkansas where she resided until the time of her death. At an early age she professed faith in Jesus Christ and united with the Baptist Church and throughout her life endeavored to follow the precepts and teachings of her Savior. In 1876 she was united in marriage to Mr. Jacob Derreberry. To this union were born four children, three of whom are living. Mr. Murray died in the year 1909. She is survived by three sons, Arthur Derreberry of Row, Okla., Marshall and Sevier Murray of the home address; one step son, Milton Murray. and four step-daughters, Mrs. A.W. Evans, Sayer, Okla., Mrs. Howard Homer, Clovis, New Mexico; Misses Dina and Alberta of the home address; also by three brothers, Messrs. H.B.; J.G. and C.M. Wilson.
