DAMRON, Ida May OSBORNE - The different communities west of Bentonville were shocked and grieved at the sudden death of Mrs. Joe Damron which occurred early Friday morning, November 7th and in her going a daughter of one of Benton county's pioneers started on the long, long trail. Mrs. Damron had been in apparently good health and arose that morning with her usual good spirits and energy. The first signs were when she told her husband that she felt dizzy and faint and in a very short time she passed away. Ida May Osborne, the daughter of George and Lucy Osborne, was born in Benton county in the Little Flock neighborhood, four miles east of Bentonville, on August 26th, 1875. She married Joe N. Damron on January 27th, 1895. To this union was born four children, one having died when a child. She professed faith in the Christian religion when a young girl and with her husband united with the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist church three years ago. She was a faithful member and had attended the service there only a few hours before she answered the hurried call of her Master. Besides her husband she is survived by her children: Mrs. Dora Edmonson, Nampa, Idaho; E.E. Damron, Dalhart, Texas; E.G. Damron, Texola, Okla.; by her mother, Mrs. Lucy A. Myers, Wheeler, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Dora Lovelace, Rogers, Ark. and a brother, W.L. Osborne of Thomas, Okla., all of whom were present at the funeral. Services were held Wednesday afternoon and interment was made in the Barron cemetery.
