T.E OVERTON JR.
Thomas Edward "Cokey" Overton Jr., 62, 1800 Shelby St., Springdale, died Sept. 25 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 15, 1918, at Springdale, he was the son of Thomas Edward Sr. and Nora Myrick Overton. He was a truck driver for Steele Canning Co. for 27 years and for Jones Truck Lines for 13 years. He was a former owner of Overton Fruit Co. and had been a member of the Odd Fellows and Elk Lodges.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Joe Dummitt Overton of the home; two sons, Tommy Overton of Heber Springs and Mike Overton of Springdale; a brother, Dee Overton of Springdale; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Perry of Bellflower, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sisco Chapel with the Rev. Burton A. Miley officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Betty Jo Overton
SPRINGDALE --- Betty Jo Overton, 75, of Springdale died Nov. 25, 1998, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Dec. 29, 1922, at Grove, Okla., to Homer Conway and Anna Goldsborough Dummitt. She was a plant supervisor for Steele Canning Co. until she retired in 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward "Cokey" Overton Jr. in 1983 and one granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tommy Overton and Mike Overton and Judy, all of Springdale; one granddaughter, Micah Lynn Overton.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. David Orr and the Rev. Burton A. Miley officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joe Trollinger, Alan Duggar, David Jones, Joe Safely, Wilford Garrison and Charles Shuster. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Eidson and Walter Turnbow.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 376, Springdale, 72765. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Springdale.
