Visitation of Billy Gene King of Calico Rock will be from noon to 9PM today at the Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5-8PM. Mr. King died Saturday (July 13, 1991) at Batesville. He was 55.
Services will be held at 2PM Tuesday at the Old Galatia Church. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery with military graveside services to be conducted by the North Central Arkansas Veterans Council and American Legion Post 52 serving as honor guard.
Paul McCarson, Dale Strate, Ralph Rand, Jim Moser, Larry Dowell and Paul King will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Kauffman, Alvin Neal Dowell, Danny Dowell, Shawn Dowell, Mike Strate, Steven Warner, Denny Ray Hardin, Phillip King and Tommy King.
Mr. King was a retired professional rodeo clown, who had preformed worldwide. He also worked as a crane operator. A native of Calico Rock, he was born there Aug 25, 1935, to the late Charles Hampton and Laura Lucille Elizabeth Honeycut King. He was a member of the Chruch of Christ and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by one daughter, Linneah King of Lubbock, TX; one brother, Howard King of Chanute, KS; five sisters, Sue Warner of Calico Rock, Esther Hardin of Kansas City, MO. Lois Fisher of Newport; Linda Strate of Holden, MO and Betty Dowell of Batesville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Jackson King.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
