Thurlo W. Greer of Mt. Home died Wednesday (Feb 2, 2000) at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was 75.
Mr. Greer was born May 18, 1924, at McPherson to James Wesley "Jim" and Eva Greer. He married Edna B. Lane on April 26, 1945, at Norfork, and worked as a tool machinist. He was a member of the First Assembly of god Church in Mt. Home.
He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Ken Greer and wife, Glenna of Fayetteville; three brothers, Vero and Lynn Greer of Norfork and Glen Greer of Mt. Home; three sisters, Virgie Whitfield of Norfork, Burlie Harris of Union Star, MO and Thelma Jeffery of Liberty, MO; four granddaughters, Melanie Besty, Carrie McCaslin, Misty Ripple and Mandy Weatherby; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parenst and one son, Curtis Greer.
Funeral services will be 10AM, Saturday at Galatia Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Visitation will be 9AM until 9PM Friday, with family receiving friends from 7-8PM at Roller Funeral Home. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Roller Funeral Home and the US Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree as a living memorial to the memory of Mr. Greer.
