Ruth Acklin, 90, of the Buford Community, died May 22, at the Baxter County Regional HOspital. She was a lifetime resident of Baxter County and a Baptist.
Born Oct 19, 1893, at Lone Rock, she was the daughter of Susan Henry McGowan and Jim McGowan. She was married May 14, 1919, in Baxter County to Ira Acklin. She was a housewife.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Acklin of the home, and I.R. Acklin of Burford; one daughter, Carrie Branscum of Buford; one grandson; one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2PM Saturday, May 26, at the Old Galatia Church near Norfork, with the Rev. Troy Melton officiating. Visitation was held May 25, fro 9AM to 9PM at Roller Funeral Home. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Roller's.
Pallbearers were Kyle Branscum, Bud Walker, Billy Branscum, Dean Martin, Dewey Acklin and Bob Lance.
