Rogers — Mrs. Lula Farriester Hammons, 79, died Tuesday in a Rogers nursing home. Born May 30, 1892 in the Shady Grove community near Rogers, she and her husband lived on a farm in the Best community for 50 years before retiring in 1962, when they moved to Rogers.
She is survived by a brother, Jesse Farriester of Rogers; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Burns Chapel in Rogers, with burial in Austin Cemetery.
