Johnnie Ethan Mayfield, son of the late Charles Edwin Mayfield, SR and Ruth Ernestine Black Mayfield, was born September 18, 1960 in Kansas City, MO. He departed this life on December 14, 2005, in Calico Rock at the age of 45 years, 2 months, and 27 days. Johnnie was united in marriage to Debby Burgess on November 18, 1980. He served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Private First Class. At the time of his death Johnnie was a stay at home grandfather of 'Papoo' as his grandchildren affectionately called him. During his working years, he built boats, working at the area boat factories such as Champion and Viper Boats. Johnnie was baptized into the Baptist faith. He attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Johnnie leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 25 years, Debby Mayfield of the home; three daughters, Heaven Leanne Shattuck of Newport, Adrienne Rose Mayfield of Russellville and Johanna Lee Mayfield of Calico Rock; four sisters, Elaine Cook of Calico Rock, Cynthia Branscum of Violet Hill, Geneva Rebecca Lamb of Calico Rock and Kathryn Rose Mayfield of Midway; three grandchildren, Ethan Duane Shattuck, Sunshine Elaine Vickery and Riley Jean Speirs and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Edwin Mayfield, Jr.
Funeral services were held Satuday, December 17, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Monty Neal offciating. Burial was at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers were, Aaron Lamb, Josh Marsen, Gregg Mayfield, Bruce Sanders, Scotty Kassinger and Chester Pool.
Honorary Pallberaers were, Richard Cook, Rick Alford and Jerry Branscum.
