Thomas Edward Standerfer, 56, of Hillsboro, MO, a native of Izard County, died Thursday at Hillsboro. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge.
The Funeral service was conducted Monday at the Galatia Assembly of God Church near Norfork, with Rev. Jack Langston, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery, under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Robert Dale Skidmore, Eudell Southard, Wayne Killian, Bud Malone, Ernie Parnell and Larry Farrier.
Mr. Standefer was born Oct 16, 1917, the son of James H. and Rosie Osbond Standefer. He was married to the former Alberta Gott, who died in 1970 at the age of 42.
Suvivors include two sons, James E. of Hillsboro and Billy J., stationed with the US Army in Germany; three daughters, Donna Marie, Laura Mae and Brenda Louise Standefer, all of Hillsboro; a brother, Ralph Standefer of LaPorte, IN; four sisters, Mrs. Emmy Brewer of Old Joe, Mrs. Dolly Taylor of Norfork, Mrs. Viola Wilson of Rolla, MO and Mrs. Florence Foil of Kansas City, MO; and five grandchildren.
