Joseph Dickerson (Joe) Nimmo, 90, of Norfork, a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of this area died Monday at the Calico Rock Medical Center.
He was a member of the Galatia Methodist Church, and the funeral will be conducted at the church at 2PM today (Thrusday) with Rev. Paul Huskey officiating. Interment will be in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Nimmo, Mr. Nimmo was born Sep 16, 1881, at Elizabeth in Fulton County, and had lived in Baxter County since 1914. He was married in 1908 to Minnie Jane Kerby, who died May 14, 1964.
Surviving are three sons, R.L. Nimmo of Huntsville, TX, E.L. Nimmo of Alhambra, CA, and Larry Gene Woody of Norfork; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Silvertooth of Kansas City, MO and Mrs. Mable Walker of Houston, TX; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Shelton of Elizabeth, Mrs. Sophie McGlasson of Beggs, OK and Mrs. Jennie Roper of Viola; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leo Pitchford, Gene Adams, Everett Parnell, Leroy Null, Herbert Daniel and J.B. Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Skidmore, Jim Greer, Fred Finley and Gene Horn.
