Charles Edwin Mayfield, Jr. of Calico Rock, son of Ruth Black Mayfield and the late Charles Edwin Mayfield, Sr., was born January 26, 1947, in Old Joe. He died August 7, 1998, at his home in Calico Rock. He was 51.
Mr. Mayfield was united in marriage to Cora Bell Lawrence April 16, 1966, in Calico Rock. To this union, two sons were born, During his working years, he was a self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two son, Greggory Mayfield and Zachary Mayfield, both of Calico Rock; four sisters, Elaine Cook of Kansas City, Missouri, Cynthia Branscum of Calico Rock, Becky Lamb of Calico Rock and Kathy Mayfield of Mt. Home; one brother, Johnny Mayfield of Mt. Home; and three granddaughters, Sara Mayfield, Erica Mayfield, and Payten Mayfield, all of Calico Rock. He was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services were held August 9, 1998, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel.
Pallbeareres were Harvey Lawrence, Junius Lawrence, Obie Lawrence, Harold Lawrence and Charles Craig. Honoray pallbearers were Bob Franks, Jim Lindsey, Don Skidmore and Ronnie Hill.
Interment was at Galatia Cemetery under the direction o f Eddie's Family funeral Home in Calico Rock.
