Iva M. Parnell, 84, of Norfork, died Saturday, (March 20, 1999) at Baxter County Regional Hospital.
She was born Feb 5, 1915, in Lone Rock, AR, the daughter of Mary B. Havner and George B. Alexander. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a supplier with Baxter Healthcare. She taught school at Martin Springs and Moccasin Creek, worked as a dietician wth Norfork Schools and also was a treasurer of the Galatia Cemetery Committee.
She married Rudolph Parnell on Oct 30, 1947, in Mt. Home.
Mrs Parnell is survived by two sons, Lawrence Parnell and Keith Parnell both of Norfork; three daughters, Carol Winchester of Kansas City, MO, Marjo McFall and Janice Killian, both of Norfork; three brothers, Gene Alexander, Louis Alexander and Ross Alexander, all of Norfork; two sisters, Vila Sisk and Ilene Whiteaker, both of Norfork; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nepehws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Carl King; one brother, Harold Alexander and one sister, Ethel Henderson.
Services will be at 2PM Tuesday at Norfork Baptist Church with the Rev. David Wiley and the Rev Forrest Bynum officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 9PM Monday and the family will receive friends from 6-8PM at Roller Funeral Home. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery with arrangements by Roller Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jason McFall, Cory McFall, Chris Gragg, Kevin Gragg, Amos Parnell and Stacey McFall. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Alexander, Ross Alexander, Louis Alexander, Thurlo Sisk, Neal Sailor, Steven McFall, Adam Parnell and Craig Sailor.
Memorials may be made to Norfork First Baptist Church building fund.
