Edward Christian Blain
Edward Christian Blain, 85, of Bella Vista, formerly of Gar-
land,Texas, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center Bentonville. He was born in Sturgis, Mich., a graduate of Sturgis High School and of Argubright Business
College in Battle Creek, Mich. He served 39 months in the Air Force during World War
II, remained in the Air Force Reserve and was recalled in 1951 to serve in the Korean
War in which he received an honorable discharge as captain to live in Dallas. He was em-
ployed with Associates Investment Company of Dallas for 18 years. In 1965, he became Senior Vice President of Dallas Bank and Trust. He later opened his own RV Business from which he retired after approximately 20 years. Ed loved golf and playing gin with his friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Garland. He served on the Finance Committee and Administrative Board at various times. He was also an active member of the John Markley Sunday School class. He was a member of the Texas Recreational Vehicle Association and served on the board as president in 1983 and 1984. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Blain; son and daughter-in-law, Michael David and Linda Blain; three grandchildren, Michael Andrew Blain, Keri L. Thompson and Heather R. Tally; six great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Bentonville, with Rev. Ben Hines of First United Methodist Church of Bentonville officiating. Burial was in Barron
Cemetery with Jim Blain, Michael Blain, Bob Malley, Danny Stevens, Billy Tally and Randy Thompson serving as pallbearers. — Paid
