Services for Mrs. Tilda Funkhouse, 87, of Norfork will be held at 2PM today (Thursday) at the Galatia Church, near Norfork. Rev. Jim Southerland, Jr. will officiate and the interment will be in the Galatia Cemetery, under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Funkhouser, a lifetime resident of Baxter County, died Tuesday at the Calico Rock Medical Center. She was born at Hopewill April 16, 1887, the daughter of Thomas and Georgeann Grisson Funkhouser (It is actually Hamilton.). She was a Methodist.
Survivors include one son, Theo Funkouser of Norfork; three daughers, Mrs. Ellen King of Wichita, KS, Mrs. Georgie Parnell of Norfork and Mrs. Mary Cooper of Midway; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. The widow of the late John Funkhouser, who died in 1939, she is also preceded in death by two sons, James T. and Atlee Funkhouser.
Pallbearers for today's service will be Wade Killian, Gene Adams, Dewight Teegraden, Eudell Southard and Jim Benefield.
