LOCATION: Athens Cemetery is located northeast of Henderson.. From the end of the Highway 62 bridge over Norfork Lake on the Henderson side drive east on Highway 62 approximately 5 miles to the intersection of CR 46. Turn left on 46 and drive north 3 ¼ miles to the Bennetts River bridge. Continue north on CR 46 from the ¾ mile and turn right on the first turn. Drive a ¼ mile to the fork in the road. Take the right fork. “Old Athens Cemetery arrow sign. Drive to the end of the road. Athens Cemetery is on the right.

CONDITION: This cemetery is well maintained. For the past couple generations the Talburt family has maintained the cemetery. Some of the older stones have been replaced with modern stones.

AGE: Per the cemetery sign this cemetery was established in 1848. Due to recent interest by relatives this cemetery could be considered active.
