FOWLER, Rilda Dean - (from Prairie Creek) Among those who attended the funeral of Mrs. Rilda Dean Fowler at Avoca last Friday were the Mrs. Rachel Pace family, Oscar Hasman and wife, Brigg Dean, Herbert and William Carr, Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt, Mrs. M. Sherwood. Mrs. Fowler was born and raised in this community and led an unusually unselfish life. She was an older sister in a large family. Her mother died when she was young and then the father married again. The second wife also died, leaving three more small children, and Miss Rilda stayed at home and mothered all of them until they were grown to man and womanhood. Then she married Mr. Fowler, who had several children by a former marriage and she was a devoted and loving mother to them all her life. The sympathy of the community goes out to those who are suffering.
