Son of Lee & Roberta Smith Kirby.
Married Elsie L. Hughes Februay 23, 1941, Norfork, Baxter County, Arkansas.

Services for Bess Lee Kirby of Norfork will be at 2PM today at the Norfork Church of Christ with Brother Donald Pflaser officiating. Mr. Kirby, 78, died Tuesday (Aug 6, 1991) at Fort Roots Veterans Medical Center in Little Rock.
Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery with E.J. Weatherford, Donald Harvey, E.L. Harvey, Jack Hughes, Vernon Cox and Steve Hood serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Taylor, Elvis Cantwell, Ernest Cantwell, Rex Kirby, Joe H. Boyd and Vero Greer.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie L. Kirby, at home and a brother George Kirby of Norfork. He was preceded in death by both parents, Lee and Roberta Smith Kirby, two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Kirby was a lifelong Norfork resident. He was born Oct 19, 1925, at Cushman. He married Elsie L. Hughes Feb 23, 1941 at Norfork. Mr. Kirby served in the United States Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked as a river guide from the late 1930s until his retirement in 1974. Mr. Kirby was a member of the Norfork Church of Christ.
