ROGERS — Alexander William "Alex" Pillstrom, 56, of Rogers died Sept. 11, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1949, in Altus to Irene Marie Roberts and Lawrence Gene Pillstrom. He moved to the area 40 years ago from Little Rock. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. He was a line worker with Scott Paper Co. in Rogers for several years. He enjoyed studying archaeology, finding arrowheads, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Amanda Pillstrom of the home, to whom he was married on June 22, 1968; three sons, Stephen Pillstrom and wife Dawna of Rogers, Scott Pillstrom and wife Kristi of Rogers and Brent Pillstrom and wife Stephanie of Lowell; his mother, Irene Marie Benton of Rogers; one brother, Larry Pillstrom of Rogers; four sisters, Susan Douthit of Rogers, Lisa Gibson of Rogers, Renee Barber of Bella Vista and Regina Hutchison of Florida; one half brother, Tony Pillstrom; one half sister, Carmen Geoates; five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Southside Church of Christ in Rogers with Jackie Chesnutt officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Tyler Pillstrom, Britney Pillstrom, Lindsey Pillstrom, McKenzie Pillstrom and Zachery Pillstrom.

Memorials may be made to Green Valley Bible Camp, c/o Southside Church of Christ, 919 S. Dixieland, Rogers, 72756.
