Visitation for James Wilbur of Norfork will be 9AM until 9PM Thursday at Roller Funeral Home. Mr. Wilbur, a Baxter County native and longtime Norfork School Board member, died Tuesday (July 30, 1996) at Calico Rock Medical Center. He was 51.
The funeral will be at 11AM Friday at the Galatia Assembly of God Church with the Rev Jimmy Huskey officiating. Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery with E.J. Weatherford, Charlie Smith, Lee Gray, Bob Swan, Doyne Lansgton and Ed Dunham serving as pallbearers. Donnie Smith and Gary Queen will be honoray pallbearers.
Mr. Wilbur was a trackman for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad for 24 years and a member of the Order of Maintenance of Way Railroad Union. He served 11 years on the Norfork School Board. Mr. Wilbur was born Oct 1, 1994, at Old Joe to Robert and Gracie White Wilbur. He married the former Phyllis Smith on Sep 4, 1965, at Norfork. He was a member of the Norfork First Baptist Church. Mr. Wilbur enjoyed basketball and cooking on the river bank for fishermen.
He is sruvived by his wife, at home; two sons, Jamie Wilbur and his wife, Melissa, of Calico Rock and Matt Wilbur and his wife, Regina of Norfork; one brother, Virgil Wilbur of Norfork; three grandchildren, Kayla Cooper and Ashton Wilbur, both of Norfork, and Alec Wilbur of Calico Rock; ten brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
