Sherman Edward Tillman, son of David and Emily Reed Tillman, was born on Roller's Ridge, Garfield, Ark. Sept. 7, 1896. He departed this life Sept. 17, 1971 at the Rogers Memorial Hospital, Rogers, Ark,, at the age of 75 years and 10 days.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lane Tillman of the home, six sons, Leon of Exeter, Jack, Harley, Edward and John of Garfield, and Ben of Pea Ridge; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, two daughters and two grandchildren.

Pal bearers were Mike Tillman, Frank Reed, Jim Kevitt, I.D. Hulvey, Evert Pendergraft and Robert Maloney.

Funeral Services were held Sept. 20th at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial in Bayless Cemetery, Garfield. Rev. Gerald Winters officiated.

GARFIELD — Rosie Tillman, 92, of Garfield died March 29, 1995, at Rogers Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born Feb. 20, 1903, in Benton County to Allen Francis and Alice Marena Gann Lane. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Little Flock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Edward Tillman, in 1971; two sons, Jack Tillman and Albert Tillman; two daughters, Georgia Bonita Tillman and Mary Alice Tillman; four brothers; two sisters; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include five sons, Leon Tillman of Exeter, Mo., Edward Tillman and John Tillman, both of Garfield, Harley Tillman of Rogers, Ben Tillman of Pea Ridge; two brothers, Gene Lane of Joplin, Mo., and Lensey Lane of Carthage, Mo.; three sisters, Gladys Hamblin of Klamath Falls, Ore., Wanda Lane and Mildred Herd, both of Picher, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Prospect Church with the Rev. Philip Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Bayless Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
