REDDICK, Ebenezer N. - Ebenezer N. Reddick died suddenly of heart failure about 7 o'clock Saturday evening, Oct. 29, 1927 at his home in the north part of Bentonville. He was 71 years of age. He was apparently in good health at supper time and ate a hearty meal. Funeral services were held at the Bayless church west of Garfield and interment was made in the cemetery there. The services were conducted by Rev. B.R. Williams of Pea Ridge. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nancy Reddick, and seven children. These are: Jim Reddick of Bentonville; Fred Reddick, Seligman; Dewey Reddick, Sperry, Oklahoma; Mrs. Vicia Ford, Little Rock; Mrs. Julia Smith, Neodesha, Kansas; Mrs. Minnie Blansett, Skiatook, Oklahoma and Mrs. Tisha Hardy, Mitchell, Nebraska. Mr. Reddick was a native son of Benton county and was born in Garfield July 12, 1856. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Reddick who came to this section from Tennessee at an earlier date. His life was an eventful one full of the trials of pioneer life. He was married to Miss Nancy Ruddick in 1875, who was not related to Mr. Reddick. Young people in those days were as romantic as they are now for this young couple were married on the Missouri-Arkansas state line in the presence of a score of their friends. Mr. and Mrs. Reddick celebrated their golden wedding at their home in Garfield two years ago. With the exception of living a few years in Seligman, Missouri and several months in Bentonville his entire life was spent at Garfield.
