GALBREAITH, Kittie - The only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Galbreaith, Miss Kittie, was born here in Bentonville December 19th, 1887 where she spent all her life and died early Sunday morning, June 15th, 1930 after a few days' critical illness following an emergency operation for appendicitis. For more than 20 years she had been an employee of the First National Bank of Bentonville, serving as assistant cashier much of that time and was widely known for the efficiency of her work and for her capabilities as a business woman. In her Christian service, a vital part of her everyday life, she was characteristically faithful and unassuming, giving of her means as generously as of her work and talents to this and other worthy pursuits. There are many, too, who have drawn real inspiration from her voice and other musical talents when for a number of years she devoted these to the service of the church. Funeral services, held at the Bentonville Baptist Church Monday afternoon, were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J.D. Allen, and former pastor and old friend of the family, the Rev. M.L. Voyles, of Little Rock. Interment was in the family lot at the Bentonville cemetery. Besides her parents Miss Kittie is survived by 4 brothers, Hunter D. Galbreaith of Little Rock, and Marion, John and Charles Galbreaith of Bentonville, and a number of other relatives.

The death of Miss Kittie Galbreaith Sunday morning following an operation filled the entire community with sorrow. Miss Galbreaith, who had been in good health, was stricken suddenly Wednesday night with appendicitis. She was moved to a local hospital and underwent an operation Thursday but it was too late to save her life. Miss Galbreaith was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Galbreaith, pioneer residents of this community and was born at the present home of the family December 19, 1887. Her entire life had been spent in Bentonville. Miss Galbreaith had been associated with the First National Bank of this city for twenty-one years and had been assistant cashier for some time. Her long association with this bank gave her a large acquaintance among the people of the county. She was regarded highly by those who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her friends and associates. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon. The edifice was filled to overflowing and many sorrowing friends could not get inside. Friends and relatives paid a beautiful tribute to her memory by their floral offerings. The services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. J.D. Allen, assisted by her former pastor, Rev. M.L. Voyles of Little Rock. Miss Kittie was a Christian of long standing and lived a true life. She was a faithful worker in the choir up until she suffered from throat trouble. Surviving her are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Galbreaith, and four brothers, Hunter Galbreaith of Little Rock, Charles, John and Marion Galbreaith of this city.
