Gideon Morgan Skaggs received a land patent on 1 Feb 1860 to the property on which this grave is located. Matilda J. Skaggs, born 21 July 1856 died 30 July 1863, was the daughter of Gideon Morgan Skaggs and Mary Polly Ann DAUGHERTY Skaggs. Her grave, along with a few others, are located at the edge of a field under two large trees. The tombstones have been knocked over by cattle and are now leaning up against the trees.
