BEASLEY AT REST

Lieut. Noble P. Beasley, who was killed at Kelley Field, Tex., last week Thursday, is at rest in the family plot in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, east of Gravette and near his former Hiwasse home. Many hundred people attended the funeral Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hiwasse Christian church and the burial which was with military honors participated in by many army veterans of the county. A large number of Gravette people were in the throng attending.

Lient. Beasley was a son of Mrs. Ann Beasley of Hiwasse, and a brother of Sam, Joe, Hattie and Esther Beasley. He was aged 25 years, and but recently graduated from West Point where he became a member of the U. S. Flying Service. Last Thursday his airplane fell 200 feet and caught fire and the young man was killed—the second Benton county boy to die thus and at the same Field, Capt. Field Kindley having lost his life there Feb. 1, 1920.

Lieut. Beasley was also given a military funeral at San Antonio, Tex. before the body was shipped to Bentonville, accompanied by his roommate, Lieut. J. M. Fitzmaurice. A letter written by Lieut. Beasley to his family perhaps on the fatal day, answering their fears for his safety, arrived Monday, and contained a statement from the young man that "someone must do this work; as a soldier it is my duty to die for my country, so what difference does it make when death comes if in line of duty."
