Wednesday, January 8, 1969
Bentonville - Willard N. Walthall, 52, of Hiwasse, a retired farmer, died Tuesday night in a Fayetteville hospital. He was born May 1, 1916, at Hiwasse and served four years in the U.S. Army in both Europe and the Pacific during World War II.
He is survived by the widow Mrs. Irene Walthall of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Beigenman of Napa, Calif., and Mrs. Barbara Puryear of Wichita, Kan.; his mother, Mrs. Kate Sykes of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Wynema Collins of Springfield; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Hiwasse with burial in Mt. Pleasant cemetery under direction of Callison-McKinney Funeral Home.
