Daisy Veda Sandlin, 74, of Hiwasse died Sunday, Jan. 6 at her home.

Born Jan. 10, 1916 in Swain to James Monroe Thomas and Hannah Elizabeth Hart Thomas, she was a lifetime resident of Hiwasse and a member of Church of Christ in Bentonville. She was married in Swain to Edward Sandlin on March 20, 1937. They were married for 31 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sandlin in 1968.

Survivors include four sons, Edward Sandlin, Jr., Jack Ellis Sandlin, Charles Kenneth Sandlin, and Johnny Wayne Sandlin all of Bentonville; five daughters, Connie Kay Rial of Tupelo, Miss., Daisy Joann Lowe of Little Rock, Brenda Faye Whiteside of Bentonville, Rhonda Gay Sandlin of Hiwassee, and Vicki Lavelle Sandlin of Woodside, Calif.; two brothers, Albert Thomas of Rogers and Lee Thomas of Gravette; a sister, Stella Sandlin of Bentonville; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ in Bentonville. Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Bentonville. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse.

Memorials may be made to the Allen Sandlin Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Church of Christ in Bentonville.
