Captain David Steward Ragsdale, 52, Mayflower formerly of Mountain View died July 12, 2008 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

David 'Daddy Rags' was born August 2, 1955 at the NAS Pensacola, Florida to Harold Wesley Ragsdale and Raymonette Steward Ragsdale.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam war, was a Christian, a member of Beaver Fork Fire Dept. and Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a construction worker.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy Ragsdale of Mayflower; his step-father and mother, Edwin G. Aeberli and Raymonette Steward Aeberli of Mountain View; two sons, SPC Robert W. Ragsdale of Greenbrier and Jessy Southall of Conway; four daughters, Maria Ragsdale of Conway, Megan Lankford and husband Wade and Janette Ragsdale, and Brandy Southall all of Conway; two granddaughters, Ariel Duarte and Aubrey Lankford.; four sisters, Carole (Michael) Curtis of Greenbrier; Lisa (Timothy) Smith of Texas, Kathleen Ragsdale of Starkville, Mississippi and Elizabeth (Lanny) Sutton of Cabot, five nephews, Justin (Julia) Ragsdale, Nate Sutton, Evan Sutton, Collin McGuire and Ian McGuire and one niece, Lauren McGuire and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ensign Harold Wesley Ragsdale; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Opal Larkins Steward and his paternal grandparents, Elbert Ragsdale and Hazel Ragsdale Tanner.

Visitation is 9 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Mtn. View.

Funeral service is 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Mtn. View with Pastor Steve Johnson and Bro. David Campbell officiating with interment in Fredonia Cemetery, Mtn. View, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Firefighters of the Beaver Fork Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Tinsley and Sean Branscum.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
