"Minervia" is engraved on her stone, but likely she was Minerva, a name that is found among Hillsman ancestors of her mother. One census spells her name "Manervy", a clue to how her name was pronounced by the family. She was born 10 September 1828 in Alabama, probably in Lawrence County but possibly in Talladega County. Her parents were Archibald Houston/Huston and his wife Judith née Borum. She died 20 December 1892.
