Lee York, aged 79 retired farmer of near Locust Bayou, died in a local hospital Monday night. Mr. York was born in Ouachita County near Frenchport, September 18, 1881. He moved to the Locust Bayou Community about 60 years ago. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Chester York of Locust Bayou; three daughters, Mrs. Novis Kelley of Camden, Mrs. Carl Williams and Mrs. J. C. Johnson both of Cleveland, Texas; 20 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Locust Bayou Church of Christ conducted by Marvin Crowson of Searcy. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Casket bearers are Grover Linebarier, Frank Scott, Doyle Sanders, Harold Johnson, Reese Proffitt and Tarber Germann. The body was taken to the home of his son near Locust Bayou this afternoon to remain until service time. (Camden News - April 25, 1961)
