A funeral for Jeffery L. Torrance of Mt. Home will be at 2PM Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Gene McCoy officiating. Mr. Torrance passed away Wed, Aug 29, 2001, at Northwest Arkansas Medical Center in Springdale. He was 23.
He was born Nov 23, 1977, at Mt. Home to Lynn and Twyla (Uchtman) Torrance. He was an installation specialist for Total Telecom of Mt. Home. He has completed his junior year at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Mr. Torrance was a lifetime area resident.
He was a former Mt. Home High School Bomber basketball and baseball player. He enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He loved his friends and family and adored his niece. He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church.
He is survived by his parents of Mt. Home; a sister, Tara Burghart and husband, Chad, of Bella Vista; a niece Gabriella Burghart; his maternal grandmother, Nellie Uchtman of Mt. Home; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Viola Torrance; his maternal grandfather, William Uchtman, and aunt, Novella Beck; and an uncle Lawrence Uchtman.
There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery with Jeremy Dewey, Sam Haney, Matt Hoyer, Corey Valentine, Aaron Ducker and Ross Douglas as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben King, Paul Bayless, Garrett House, Chad Burghart, Phillip Taylor, Curt Harris, J.J. Fratesi and Luke Boyer.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.

MH MAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT
(AP) A Mt. Home man was killed Wednesday when his car collided with a sport-utility vehicle on US 412 in Madison County, state police said.
A police report said Jeffery Torrance, 23, was eastbound about 3PM when the collision occurred with an SUV driven by Todd H. Richardson, 27, of rural Madison County. The pavement was wet from rain at the time, the report said.
The death raised this year's traffic toll in Arkansas to 406, state police said, compared with 428 by the same time a year ago.
