Funeral services for Robert E. Sword, 88, who died Tuesday of last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Susan Wickersham, in Norfork, were held Saturday in the Galatia Church with the Rev. Cornett officiating. Burial was in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Funeral Service.
Mr. Sword was born in Pike Co., KY in 1858 but moved to this county early in life. He made his home for many years near Lone Rock, moving to Big Flat in 1920 where he lived until a few months ago when he moved to Norfork. He was a member of the Petecostal Church.
He is survived by a son, Earl Sword of Big Flat; and five daughters, Mrs. Lillie Wickersham of Washington, DC; Mrs. Zula Wade of Downey, CA; Mrs. Susan Wickersham of Norfork; Mrs. Willie Van Pelt of Hutchinson, KS and Mrs. Emma Stephenson of Compton, CA.
